Philip J. Leggio is an Associate in the New York office of Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP.  Philip focuses on prosecuting complex securities fraud cases on behalf of institutional investors.

Philip is actively litigating cases against major U.S. and non-U.S. corporations, such as Cutera, Inc., Novavax, Inc., Estee Lauder, CannTrust Holdings Inc., and iQIYI Inc.  Philip has played an integral role in securing favorable settlements for investors in class actions against SCANA Corporation, an electric and gas utility company ($192.5 million); Canntrust Holdings, a Canadian cannabis producer (CA$129.5 million); Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical drug manufacturer ($125 million); Novavax, Inc., a biotechnology company ($47 million); Jeld-Wen Holding, Inc., one of the world’s largest door and window manufacturers ($40 million); Virtus Investment Partners, Inc., a mutual fund company ($20 million); Acuity Brands, Inc., a provider of lighting and building management solutions ($15.75 million); Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd., an Indian pharmaceutical manufacturer ($9 million); and Spectrum Brands Holding, Inc., a global branded consumer products company ($9 million).

Philip is actively involved in Labaton Keller Sucharow’s pro bono immigration program, where he reunited a father and child separated at the border and is currently working on their asylum application.  Philip also serves as a member of Labaton Keller Sucharow’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

Previously, Philip served as a Judicial Intern in the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York under the Honorable Joanna Seybert.

Philip is a member of the New York City Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.

He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law, where he served as the Associate Managing Editor of the St. John’s Law Review, and his Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from Stony Brook University.

Philip is conversant in Italian.
